The Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) is a corporate body established by Act No. 12 of 1995 and charged with the responsibility of regulating the practice of the library and information science profession in Nigeria.

This specialized professional institution invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the below vacant position:

Senior Administrative Officer (CONTISS 09) -
N777, 984 X N25, 259.00 – N1, 13l, 610 .00 (2 positions)



Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer, he will be responsible for the following duties:

Organization and coordination of all activities of the department
Initiating and coordinating actions covering the entire span of human resource activities, e.g. recruitment, placement, promotion, Performance appraisal, job classification reviews, training
Providing advice with respect to Conditions of Service, Public Service Rules, duties and responsibilities, privileges and entitlements of staff
Contributing in the formulation/interpretation of policies


Academic and Professional Qualification

A first degree with honours in either Humanities or any Social Science Membership of a recognized Professional Management body is essential Possession of Post Graduate


Qualification e.g. M.P.A, M.I.L.R., MBA etc will be an added advantage.

Experience

A minimum of six (6) years post qualification experience is required

Good interpersonal relation skills
Ability to work with limited supervision
Ability to multi task and work under pressure
Good presentation and advocacy skills
Good internet skills
Good knowledge of ICT software e.g. Microsoft office package.




Conditions of Service

The posts are on permanent and pensionable status, but new entrants into the service will be on probationary appointment for the first two years before their appointments may be confirmed, subject to satisfactory performance on the job. Other conditions of service are as obtain in similar institutions operating the Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure (CONTISS)
